ELSAS YOU SAVED EVERYONE

We've been enchanted by British-Spanish artist ELSAS since we heard 'Weeping Willow' just a matter of weeks ago. 'You Saved Everyone' follows another brilliant tune, 'Creadora', and takes us further into ELSAS' fascinating world. Co-written and produced with Gabriel Gifford, hard edges and soft textures combine, pushed along by a bouncy beat that sucks you in. Lyrically sophisticated with a good deal of dark humour thrown in, ELSAS explains: "The spark of this song came after watching ‘Holy Hell’, a documentary about an American cult. It shows the dark intentions of a leader veiled by an illusory sense of harmony and spirituality. I find it fascinating how humans can fall into these mirages of idolisation, which we all generate towards each other to some degree. This ties in with the trope of the ‘male saviour’, very common in our media." ELSAS' debut EP, The Art of The Concrete, will be released on the 23rd of July via untitled (recs). -Holly Mullineaux
